Photo Submission Guidelines
Maximize your chances of being chosen for top brand events!
Your portfolio is your first impression - and often the deciding factor in getting booked. Whether you're submitting a new application or refreshing your profile, your photos should reflect the most authentic and up-to-date version of you.
Here's what we'll be going over:
-
New Applications.
-
Updating Your Portfolio.
-
Consistency In Your Look.
New Applications: Your Portfolio Starts Here.
When applying to BAM, please upload a recent headshot that clearly shows your face.
No filters, hats, or sunglasses. Your photo should be front-facing, well-lit, and natural.
We want to see you as YOU! If you have professional headshots, those will work too.
Incorrect:
Selfie with heavy filters, sunglasses and poor lighting.

Correct:
Front-facing, natural-light, clean background.

Incorrect:
The environment and action distract from the focus - the face. It's fun but let's keep images professional.
Correct:
Simple, clear, and properly lit with full face visible, and a relaxed expression.
Incorrect:
Phone covers most of the face, hiding key features. Mirror selfies are too casual and unprofessional.

Correct:
Candid, well-lit shot showing natural expression and personality.
Updating Your Portfolio.
Keep it professional. . . because clients see these too. . .
Your profile isn't just for us - it's for brands, agencies, and event clients who sometimes handpick their team based on what they see. Your portfolio represents not only your professionalism, but also BAM as a whole, so it's important that every photo reflects the standards we're known for.
Clients love to see personality, creativity, and range - from high-end looks to clean, lifestyle commercial shots - but the presentation must stay professional.
What To Avoid:
-
Mirror selfies, car selfies, or bathroom photos.
-
Blurry, low-quality, or heavily filtered images.
-
Photos with visible alcohol, party settings, or inappropriate attire.
-
Group photos.
-
Distracting backgrounds or text overlays.
-
Outdated images (5+ year old images).

You know what else clients love? When your sizing information is listed!
Clients usually want you in their branded clothing. So let's make it easy for them, and us. Update your sizing on your portfolio
Consistency In Your Look.
We match you to clients because your look fits their campaign.
If you have curly hair in your portfolio but show up to a hair-care event with straight hair, the client may not recognize you - and you will not be booked for any more hair events.
We completely understand that your look can evolve - new haircut, color change, tattoos or piercings, and that's part of what makes you unique. But when that happens, please let us know and update your profile with a new, professional photo that reflects your current appearance.
This helps us accurately present you to clients and keep your portfolio competitive. Updated photos show that you're active, reliable, and consistent - all key factors brands look for when choosing talent.
Helpful Tips Before You Submit.
